The Garden
Sep 30th, 2009 by kiki

There lived a girl named Holly. She lived on Chestnut Rd 248 which was a lonely street so she didn’t learn to share or play she just read books about fantasy and castles. One day her mother died and since her father was really poor he had to sell her but gave her a locket so she will always remember him. She had been sold to a rich man who lived in a house that was right beside the biggest park in the world. The house had for sure, one-hundred and eight doors. Most of them were locked but he let her have a garden of her own and made a fence and lock for her. She didn’t have anything in her garden yet though. When she was going outside she met a girl named Willa and her brother, Max. They taught her how to plant and help nature. From now on when she went to the garden she saw a grasshopper on her flower, a ladybug on a dirt hill, a spider spinning a web, two beautiful birds, and lots of bugs, a tree with twirling branches and her ant hill, a butterfly on her rose, a venous fly trap, caterpillars and some flowers. She was really fond of her garden and made sure she was careful with it. Here is a picture of the garden me and my friends drew.

A Dream
Sep 29th, 2009 by kiki

There once lived a girl in grade four and was smallest kid in her class every year. One day when she went to the most boring gray school she decided to dream a school called Colorful School. She told every single kid in the school about it. On Monday it would yellow day and the sun will shine so we can play all day. All day we will chew the endless best flavoured gum. On Tuesday it will be bright light blue day. We would draw and paint and laugh out loud. Wednesday, will be green day we will be helpful and do experiments. Thursday is red day we will do our favorite subject or thing at school. We will also have some fun and read some books. Friday, the very last day of the school is purple day. We’ll do anything we did during the week. For every lunch we could have whatever we want. If you really want to go to school on the weekend you could have a private room and your family could come to. The weekend is the color of the rainbow. On Saturday or Sunday you could do whatever you want and you could have a awesome servant.

The picture of Colorful School.

Here is a poem I wrote when I finished this story:

Sunday school is a bummer

I would wish it was summer

I would have been in Colorful School

But I’m not, what a drool!!

Melting Away

Did you ever know that sugar, ice, salt, sand, and crystals are pretty much the same? Well, I once did a project and it all started at breakfast. It stated when my dad gave my sister tea and gave some sugar to put in it and asked us why do we mix the sugar instead of just starting to drink? So we started off with seeing what will happen if we left alone in cold water and warm water. When we put it in cold water it took a while but, when we put it in warm water it took a little less time. When we mixed the sugar in cold water it was pretty fast and mixing it in warm water was pretty much the same. Later we tried it with salt. It hardly did anything. After my sister and I watched Bolt we wanted to see what will happen if we boiled salty and sugary water after we finished the movie. At first it was all bubbly and then at the end it left a big hard blob of sugar/salt.

Lily And Abigail
Sep 2nd, 2009 by kiki

There once lived a girl named Lily. Lily really loved her name and liked lilies to. When she started school a girl in her class said Lily’s name was boring and that she should have a beautiful name like hers, and the girls name was Abigail. Her friends agreed that Lily should have a better name.  After school she told her mom about Abigail. Her mom, Marie agreed that Abigail was mean and told Lily to stand up for herself. Abigail came to her again during morning recess. She told her that being named by a flower was babyish and was not pretty. Lily got really mad but did not tell the teacher. Her mom made her favourite dinner to cheer her up when she got home. One day, when it was raining the kids had music lessons. During Lily’s favourite song, When The Lilies Dance Abigail whispered you’re a baby just like you’re name. When Abigail said this Lily got really mad and yelled “There is nothing wrong with me or my name!!” This made the teacher, Miss. Star run over and asks what was going. So Lily told the whole story. Miss. Star told Lily there was nothing to be worried about because her first name was Rose and she was going to name her baby after a flower that is going to be born on your birthday, Lily. I was going to announce this later but I would like you to help me decide which name is better Lilly or Dandelion? They all chose Lilly which was close to Lily. After that no matter what Lily loved herself and everybody else. (Until Victor came along, he was freaky.)

If you liked this story you would love the Kevin Henkes series.
